Mohammed Polo wants Hearts consistency after recent surge in Ghana Special Competition

Former Hearts of Oak playmaker and coach Mohammed Polo does not want fans of the club to get carried away amid their recent resurgence under new head coach and director of football Kim Grant.

Following a topsy-turvy start to the Ghana Special Competition, the Phobians have seemingly turned a corner, having won their last three games to move top of Zone B.

An emphatic 4-0 thrashing of Wafa on Sunday was their last result.

“The performance against Wafa is surprising but maintaining it is the problem,” Polo, and Africa Cup of Nations winner with Ghana in 1978, told Kumasi FM.

“If you perform good today and decline tomorrow then it [good showing] is by chance. It will be the best if they maintained that form.

“The supporters must cease the praise-singing because there’s a lot to do in keeping this current form.

“Kim Grant must concentrate on what he’s doing once the management are satisfied with it.

“With the performance of the team, the future is bright for Kim Grant.”

Polo, known as the ‘Dibbling Magician’ in his heyday, coached Hearts between 2013 and 2014.

The Phobians next face Liberty Professionals in the Special Competition on Wednesday.
