So who are the four people given the mandate to spearhead the new era of football in the country? That has been the question on the lips of almost every Ghanaian football lover following the announcement of the much-anticipated Normalisation Committee by Fifa on Thursday.
Verifiable facts about the four personalities have been in short supply and personal details are a little sketchy on some, however, what we dug out is enough evidence to show that they are well connected individuals with knowledge about crises management and entrepreneurship. They are expected to reform the football system before fresh elections at the Ghana Football Association.
Kofi Amoah
To begin with, the head of the committee is businessman Dr. Kofi Amoah, who is from the Ashanti region and needs no more introductions.
He had his high school education at Opoku Ware Senior High in Kumasi in the 1960s before obtaining his first degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
He also holds other certificates from University of California, Berkeley and is currently the chief executive officer of Progeny Ventures.
Dr. Amoah founded J.S. Investments Inc in Los Angeles (USA), PPVI Ghana Ltd and Citizen Kofi, which is an entertainment outfit.
He first attracted attention in 1998 when he became the chairman of the Local Organising committee of the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations which was co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria and then rose to prominence in business and sporting circles, becoming a well-connected facilitator of sponsorship deals for several local clubs before he was selected as the Fifa / Caf Liaison Team chairman a couple of months ago.
Lucy Quist
Next on the list is Lucy Quist.
The international businesswoman was born in the United Kingdom in 1974 to Ghanaian parents Peter and Mary Afriyie. She spent her formative years in Europe and Africa concurrently. She is a product of Wesley Girls' High School in Cape Coast and graduated with a first-class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of East London.
She also holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and is the founder and CEO of Quist Blue Diamonds and co-founder of FreshBakery which is the parent company of FreshPay payment platform in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
She was the Managing Director (CEO) of telecommunication network Airtel Ghana before the company merged with Tigo.
She is well remembered in football circles as playing a major role in the establishment of Airtel rising stars - a talent hunt for young footballers between the ages of 13 and 17.
In terms of honours, she was voted CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year 2014 and 8th Most Influential Public Figure in 2016 by Ghana Social Media Rankings.
Quist will deputise Dr. Amoah in the Normalisation Committee.
Naa Odofoley Nortey
Another woman in the committee is Naa Odofoley Nortey Esq.
Nortey is a lawyer by profession. She is a graduate of University of Ghana with B.A. in Sociology and Law in 2002 and currently holds the board chairman position of Abokobi Community Bank in Accra.
Although she is green to the football world, her vast experience in commercial arbitration would be needed in the revision of Ghana FA's laws.
Kofi Dua-Adonten
The fourth member is Kofi Dua-Adonten Esq, an astute lawyer who has been around football circles. He was a former board member of Asante Kotoko and former managing director of Ghana Post.
He is expected to lead the reforms of legal complexities surrounding statutes of the Ghana FA regarding ownership, membership and disciplinary measures that confronted the past administration.
Goal understands that Fifa will announce other members in the coming days before the committee officially begins work.
