Inter rule out Mkhitaryan move


Luciano Spalletti insists he will not look to remedy Inter's current slump in form with big-money January signings such as out-of-favour Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

"To keep saying we need to have a big transfer campaign, after the club has made it clear there are certain parameters to be respected, seems to me the best way to get hurt," he told a news conference.

"You can say names — Mkhitaryan, Pastore, Verdi. But they'd cost €30 million and we don't have that."

The Portuguese coach penned a three-year deal at Old Trafford upon his arrival in the summer of 2016 and the Red Devils are eager to fend off rumours suggesting he could cut his stay short.

The former Chelsea boss has been spending less and less time in Manchester of late after a run of disappointing results for the Red Devils.

And the United hierarchy feel his heart is no longer in it and he could be set to depart this summer.

The report claims Zindine Zidane does not want to part ways with the Croatian midfielder, while also suggesting Mourinho will similarly not accept no for an answer.

It is said the Red Devils coach is pushing to sign the 23-year-old before the end of the January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho has urged the Manchester United board to make a £50 million bid for Tottenham full-back Danny Rose, according to  The Sun .

Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the England international as he looks to upgrade on his current left-back options.

And though Rose is likely to be out for three weeks with a knee injury, Mourinho wants to get him in before the end of the January transfer window.

Monaco star Thomas Lemar has decided to join Liverpool ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Yahoo Sport

Arsenal tried to sign Lemar last summer, but failed to finalise a €95 million deal on deadline day which, in turn, prevented Alexis Sanchez from joining Manchester City.

Liverpool were also interested in Lemar in the last transfer window and are ready to make a renewed push to sign the France international in January, with Barcelona trying to agree a deal for Philippe Coutinho.

Manchester United have also been linked with Lemar, but the winger has decided he wants to join Liverpool and he could become the replacement for Coutinho at Anfield.

Mourinho is keen to strengthen his squad in the coming weeks and has identified the areas where he is demanding fresh faces.

Agents have been alerted to United’s desire to sign a right-back, left-back and attacking midfielder as Mourinho tries to address ongoing issues within his squad.
