Man Utd target Matuidi says PSG stay 'possible but not set in stone'

Blaise Matuidi has been heavily linked with Manchester United, but he claims he could stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international has just one year remaining on his current contract and is said to have snubbed the offer of fresh terms with the Ligue 1 champions.

With his future up in the air, a proposed move to Old Trafford has been mooted.

Matuidi has, however, sought to play down the speculation by insisting that there is no guarantee he will be heading for pastures new this summer.

He told Canal Plus: "I am focused on the remainder of the season with PSG. I am very happy in Paris.

"I have an excellent understanding with the club's leaders, despite what some people might think. I have a very good relationship with the president.

"Staying with PSG is a possibility. Is it set in stone? No. I am focused on the end of the season. I feel really good in Paris, and I have no problems here whatsoever."

Emery satisfied as PSG remain in the hunt

Matuidi’s latest performance will have caught the eye of anyone watching from England.

The 30-year-old midfielder scored twice and laid on another for Edinson Cavani as PSG edged out Montpellier 3-2.

He now has six goals for the season and has helped to keep Unai Emery’s side in contention to defend their domestic crown.
