Some players and clubs just seem to be a match made in heaven, and that description certainly applies to Iago Aspas and Celta Vigo.
On the back of an unsuccessful loan spell with Sevilla, Aspas returned to the club from which Liverpool had bought him - Celta - and has forced his critics to eat their words.
Aspas is only the second player this season to net one and create another in the same game against Madrid, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang managing the feat for Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
Even more remarkably, with his 15 goals and five assists for the campaign as a whole Aspas has now played a part in more goals than any other Spanish player in 2016-17.
Having netted 18 goals in all competitions last season, the 29-year-old is well on pace to surpass that total this term and could even be on the verge of leading Celta to a famous cup victory.
The Galicians will attempt to defend their one-goal lead over Madrid in the return leg at Balaidos on January 25.
