Rodriguez wants Madrid future


James Rodriguez wishes to return to Real Madrid once his loan spell with Bayern Munich is up - but the La Liga club may have over plans for him, reports Don Balon.

The Colombian has been limited for chances this year in the Bundesliga and will hope to reboot his career in the Spanish capital.

However, his parent club are thought instead to be looking to offload him to another European side for a hefty fee.

Roma's Totti admits Conte talks


Roma sporting director Francesco Totti has acknowledged that the club has held talks with Antonio Conte about the head coach position at the club.

The former Juventus boss has been out of work since leaving Chelsea at the end of the last season.

Rangers prepare to snap up Stewart


Rangers are nearing the completion of a pre-contract signing with on-loan Aberdeen striker Greg Stewart, says the Scottish Sun.

The forward, who is contracted to Birmingham, has enjoyed a fine season with the Scottish club but looks set to make the leap to their rivals under Steven Gerrard.

Stewart would join Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie of Motherwell as additional recruits at Ibrox.

Roma club director Francesco Totti says that teams would do “crazy things” to appoint former Juventus boss Antonio Conte after the Serie A side confirmed they have held talks with him.

The 49-year-old was last seen at Chelsea, but has been out of work since the end of the 2017-18 campaign after leading them to FA Cup glory.

He previously led the Bianconeri to three consecutive league titles and managed the Italian national team between 2014 and 2016 before his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hinted that Arsenal may look for Aaron Ramsey’s replacement in their own ranks, rather than signing someone from another club.

Asked about the possibly of signing a midfielder this summer to fill the void created by Ramsey, Emery said: “Yes, but there are also players coming through from the academy who are producing good performances and who could progress.

"We could replace him with a player from outside, or with a player who is already here who can grow like he did himself.”

Sancho will remain at Dortmund next season


Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has ruled out the possibility of the German club selling Jadon Sancho this summer.

“No, we did not receive anything [an offer],” said Zorc.

“We do not expect anything and we do not want anything, because he is on our plans. He will play for Borussia Dortmund next season. Nobody needs to get in touch.”

Martinez keen to play with Dybala at Inter


Lautaro Martinez says he would like to play alongside Paulo Dybala at Inter amid speculation the Juve forward could move to San Siro.

Dybala reportedly is being lined up as a replacement for Mauro Icardi, should the Inter forward be sold this summer.

“Paulo is a great player, with whom one would always like to play, because it helps you improve or score more," Martinez said. "I can't say anything about his future.”

Juve contact Raiola over Pogba transfer


Juventus have spoken to Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, over the possibility of re-signing the Manchester United star.

The Irish Times claim Juve contacted Raiola about the possibility of signing Flamengo full-back Wesley and discussed Moise Kean’s contract. However, while speaking to Raiola, the Italian champions outlined their plans to sign Pogba at the end of the season.

The World Cup winner could cost Juventus €130million (£112m) if he were to move back to Turin, and his signing might see Miralem Pjanic and Douglas Costa leave the club.

West Ham keen on Norwich youngster


West Ham have joined the race to sign young Norwich City talent Ciaren Jones, according to Football Insider.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the Canaries but has already caught the attention of a number of Premier League sides.

The likes of Leicester City and Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Jones, along with the Hammers.

Eriksen could cost Man United £60m


Manchester United could have to pay £60 million (€69m) if they wish to sign Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen this summer.

The Danish international has been linked with a move to the Red Devils, and talkSPORT are reporting that United are willing to double his current wages should he join the club.

However, they also claim Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would prefer to sell Eriksen to a foreign club rather than strengthen a Premier League rival.

Lenglet turned down chance to sign for Juve


Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet has revealed he rejected the chance to join Juventus as an 18-year-old.

“They called my dad to go to Turin", Lenglet told El Periodico. "I went to Turin with him, we visited the training complex and we went to the Stadium to watch a game against Empoli.

“I thought it was all too big for me, I was only 18 and I had just played 10 games with Nancy before.

“Economically, the offer was good but it was a risk for my career, I wasn't ready, I wouldn't be able to compete and I decided to say no,” he added.

Zidane hints at moves for Neymar and Hazard


Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has refused to play down speculation linking him with moves for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Asked whether it was a possibility that the pair move to the Bernabeu this summer, Zidane said: “Yes. A lot of players want to come here and play for Real Madrid, but let's see what happens in the future.

“Will I have plenty of power to decide on transfers and signings? No. I'm not even the boss in my own home! There are people here who are very important to the club that help make decisions and we want to make those together.

“The idea is to empower the attacking line for next season. Let's see what we can do,” he added.

Klopp talks down Salah rift


Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has rubbished suggestions he has fallen out with Mohamed Salah, report the Liverpool Echo.

Reports in Spanish news outlet AS, repeated by French outlet Telefoot last week, suggested the pair had fallen out and Salah was ready to jump ship to Real Madrid.

“I always tell you don’t believe 3% of what you hear on social media,” said the Liverpool boss.

“I had no argument with Mo especially after the Chelsea game and Roberto Firmino is not out for the season."

Ancelotti 'won't block' the exit door


Carlo Ancelotti says he will not stand in the way of any player who wishes to leave Napoli in the summer, report Calcio Mercato

There have been reports that Lorenzo Insigne is eager to move on from the Stadio San Paolo, with Liverpool believed to be admirers, and Ancelotti is not prepared to stand in his way.

“We don’t need to sell our best players, we can sign new players following our ideas," said the manager. "However, I am not going to block who wants to leave. I’ve never done it in my career."

Cech to be offered Chelsea role

DC United announces new technical director


DC United announced that  Stewart Mairs has been promoted to the role of technical director.

Mairs has served as the club's Director of Soccer Strategy and Analysis since 2016.

“Stewart has been a valuable resource for the club with his expertise in data, and his tactical understanding of the game,” said general manager and VP of soccer operations Dave Kasper.

"He has elevated our scouting network and provided the coaching staff with information and analytics to help prepare for games. We are looking forward to his elevated role in the area of player procurement and roster construction to both Loudoun United and D.C. United." 

Arsenal may offer Welbeck new contract


Arsenal are considering whether to offer Danny Welbeck a new contract, according to the Mirror

The 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and his Arsenal career appeared over after a serious ankle injury earlier in the season. 

But with Welbeck's rehab going well, the Gunners could offer him a new deal with the striker attracting interest from West Ham, Newcastle and Everton.

Pogba's refusal is the latest sign that he wants to leave United at season's end, as rumours continued to swirl about a move to Real Madrid

The Sun claims that Pogba's situation is causing turmoil in the dressing room, and that the midfielder does not believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the right coach for the club moving forward. 

PSG ready to offload Meunier and Kurzawa


Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for summer sales of Thomas Meunier and Layvin Kurzawa, reports L'Equipe.

The full-back pair have made little progress in negotiations over new contracts, and the Ligue 1 side are prepared to cash in rather than allow them to leave on a free. 

L'Equipe estimates that the two players could earn PSG a total of €60 million (£52m/$67m).

Dortmund lead the chase for Marseille midfielder Maxime Lopez, according to El Desmarque. 

Lopez has impressed with the Ligue 1 side this season, making 27 league appearances and notching one goal and three assists. 

Sevilla are also interested in the 21-year-old, who could cost as much as €25 million (£22m/$28m). 

West Ham eye move for Ceballos


West Ham are eying a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, reports the Mirror

The 22-year-old is viewed as surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, having started 12 La Liga games this season and appeared as a sub in 10 more. 

Ceballos could be available for around £18 million (€21m/$23m).
