Everton are closing in on the signing of Barcelona defender Lucas Digne, according to the Liverpool Echo.

New Toffees boss Marco Silva is keen to bring in competition for Leighton Baines at left-back and now looks set to welcome Digne to Goodison Park.

Silva also wants to bring Digne's team-mate Yerry Mina to Merseyside, though talks over a deal for the Colombia international are proving difficult.

Fulham join race for Mawson

Fulham are the latest club to show an interest in signing Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson, according to Wales Online.

The former Barnsley centre-back has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium all summer, with West Ham and Burnley both keen.

But newly-promoted Fulham have now jumped to the front of the queue and are willing to meet Swansea's asking price.

Alex Iwobi is close to putting pen to paper on a new contract at Arsenal.

Gunners boss Unai Emery confirmed the news ahead of his side's upcoming International Champions Cup clash with former club Paris-Saint Germain.

Iwobi has been linked with a move to Lazio but now looks set to commit his future to the Emirates Stadium outfit.

DONE DEAL: Muto set for Newcastle

Newcastle have confirmed that a deal has been agreed to sign Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto, subject to a work permit.

The Japan international spent Friday on Tyneside undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms ahead of his £9.5 million ($12.5m) move.

He is set to become the Magpies' fifth signing of the summer following the likes of Fabian Schar, Ki-Sung Yeung and Kenedy to St James' Park.

Inter keen on Vrsaljko

Inter are interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Sime Vrsaljko.

Nerazzurri manager Luciano Spalletti has confirmed he is a fan of the Croatia international as he aims to bolster his squad.

Reports suggest Vrsaljko could move on an intial loan deal before completing a €25 million (£22.2m/$29.2m) permanent move.

Darmian determined to leave Man Utd

The 26-year-old Colombian joins Xolos after the Liga MX side paid the Turkish Super League club a reported $2.7 million transfer fee.

Castillo spent two years with Trabzonspor after a protracted exit from FC Dallas, which saw the MLS side ultimately part with him for a reported $4m.

Mexico national team coach Juan Carlos Osorio has been contacted by a half dozen national teams in regards to their head coach positions, sources tell Goal.

While Osorio current remains employed by El Tri, Goal has previously reported he has rejected a contract extension and is set to depart the position.

Sources tell Goal two of the counties are South American, but the United States has yet to make contact as new general manager Earnie Stewart does not officially take his role on August 1.

Barcelona are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot but are unlikely to land him this summer, according to ESPN FC.

The midfielder has just one year left on his contract and Barca sporting director Eric Abidal went to Paris earlier this summer to try to smoothe over relations with PSG ahead of a bid.

However the bad blood from the Neymar and Marco Verratti transfer sagas remains and PSG have refused all inquiries, leaving Barca pessimistic a deal can get done.

Chelsea meet Pjanic's agent in Italy

West Ham after Porto striker

The £22m (€25m/$29m) Marenga would be a reinforcement for a strike force that includes an injured Andy Carroll and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez deemed inconsistent.

West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate is a target of Porto and could be used to reduce the fee in a deal for the striker.
