Liberty coach Asante reiterates desire to sign 'potent' strikers in Ghana Premier League second window

Liberty Professionals coach Reginald Asante says they need potent strikers in their bid to avoid relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

The Dansoman-based club have picked only one victory in their last seven games, recording four defeats in the process, including a 3-2 loss to Aduana Stars on Thursday.

They have also scored only five goals and conceded 10 within this period.

"We have been playing very well since the start of the season. We possess the ball and create a lot of chances but our problem is putting the ball in the net," Asante told Otec FM

"I think we need to beef up the squad especially in our attacking department. We need potent strikers who will utilise two chances out of three during games so that we can achieve our target for the season.

“If you look at the table, the gap between the first team and the bottom teams is not that huge. We have to start catching up with them as soon as possible and we can do that with good strikers,” he added.

After 12 games, Liberty sit 13th on the log with 12 points, one above safety.
