The Brazilian star has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain but the bookmakers think he will remain in France when the transfer window shuts

Neymar is 7/4 (2.75) to join Real Madrid amidst reports that the Liga giants are preparing to offer €100 million (£92m) as an opening bid.

The Brazilian has made no secret of his desire to leave Paris Saint-Germain and a return to Barcelona initially looked on the cards, but financial fair play restrictions means that move has all but collapsed.

Now it looks as if the forward could join Barca’s bitter rivals, although there is little to suggest PSG will accept Real’s bid considering they previously demanded €222m (£200m) for Neymar.

That is the same amount the French side paid for him just two years ago, during which time the 27-year-old scored 51 goals in 58 games across all competitions and won two Ligue 1 titles.

However, PSG crashed out in the Champions League last 16 in each of those campaigns and Neymar has missed a total of 47 games due to a series of foot-related injury problems.

Under contract until 2022, 888Sport offer 2/5 (1.40) that the forward stays at PSG this summer, with the market being settled on September 3 2019 when all major European transfer windows shut.

Although that is still weeks away, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the only viable potential suitors for Neymar, making the options extremely limited if a move is going to unfold.

A potential cash-plus-player deal containing Ballon d’Or holder Luka Modric has also been mooted by Real should PSG reject their initial offer, however the French champions previously showed little interest in a swap deal.

The Parisians would reportedly only consider defensive improvements, with Barca seeing their previous offers involving Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele knocked back.

A switch to Barca is priced at 3/1 (4.0), with 888Sport remaining unconvinced that the Catalans have given up on signing Neymar – especially if they can sell Coutinho.

The former Liverpool player has been linked to Tottenham and Arsenal in recent weeks, and a move for Coutinho would free up enough money for Barca to bid again for Neymar.

An unlikely move to Juventus for Neymar is priced at 6/1 (7.0), whilst it is 25/1 (26.0) that Bayern Munich make another big-money signing.
