The 2018 Kenyan Premier League Awards Gala is set to be held in the next couple of weeks.
A total of Sh6, 750, 000 will be spread across the categories. The nominated individuals will be hoping to get a fair share of the cash available as they prepare for the 2018/19 season. But what will the winners get in various categories?
2018 Most Valuable Player (MVP) will walk away with Sh1m. It is the highest cash award available, twice as much as what the Golden Glove and Golden Boot winners will get.
Defender and midfielder of the year will each walk away with Sh300, 000. The coach of the year will be awarded Sh200, 000 same as what the referee of the year will take home.
Eric Kapaito of Kariobangi Sharks leads with the highest nominations ahead of the awards set to be staged at the Kabete School of Government. Kapaito, who finished the season as the top scorer with 16 goals, has four nominations while Bandari defender Felly Mulumba has three.
Besides the automatic Golden Boot Award, Kapaito has also been nominated for the Most Valuable Players of the Year, Fairplay Player of the year as well as the New Player of the Year Awards.
