The Phobians midfielder has conceded that the Porcupine Warriors were too strong in the FA Cup final on Sunday

Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has admitted that Asante Kotoko deserved to win the 2017 Ghana FA Cup.

A first-half hat-trick by Sadick Adams ended the Phobians' night despite a late consolation by captain Thomas Abbey at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Cobbinah has congratulated the Kumasi giants but believes they could have the better side of their rivals next season to appease their disappointed supporters.

“I wouldn’t say we were totally disappointed. It’s a game of football and everyone wanted to win but Kotoko were able to overcome us," Cobbinah said.

“We just have to go back and correct our mistakes and plan well ahead of the new season. It was a bad day for everyone but we’re cool. I wouldn't want to point fingers at anyone for this defeat because it’s a game of football and one must win at the end of the day

"Kotoko deserved the victory so congratulations to them and hopefully, we shall overcome them one day to make the supporters happy,” he added

Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2018 Caf Confederations Cup and Goal understands that they are planning to officially launch an official bid to sign Cobbinah in their hunt to strengthen their team.
