Goalscorer Keita Balde dismissed in Lazio defeat

Senegal attacker Keita Balde suffered mixed emotions as he scored and got sent off as nine-men Lazio were beaten 3-1 by Internazionale in Serie A on Sunday.

The 22-year-old, who is currently in a form of his life having scored eight goals in his last six matches, had opened the scoring via an 18th-minute penalty at Stadio Olimpico.

The strike would be his 17th of the campaign on his 32nd appearance and, unfortunately, his last, as he will miss the season finale at Crotone after he was sent off.

Marco Andreolli’s leveller and a Wesley Hoedt own-goal saw Inter claw their way back into the game.

Balde received two yellow cards in succession, in the 61st and 66th minute, and received his marching orders to the dismay of the Biancocelesti faithful.

Another Lazio player, Senad Lulic, also received two quick yellow cards, 71st and 7th minutes and followed the Senegalese frontman to the changing room for an early shower.

If reports linking the Barcelona youth prodigy with a move away from Lazio in the off-season are anything to go by, then the highly-rated forward might have as well played his last match for the capital club.
