Top scorer Stephen Owusu earned a point for Nairobi Stima in a 1-1 draw with NSL champions

Already promoted Western Stima slowed down Nairobi Stima quest for promotion to the Kenyan Premier League following a 1-1 draw at the Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha.

Nairobi Stima’s top scorer Stephen Owusu earned a point for his side after Wesley Kemboi had given the NSL leaders and outright winners the lead in the 52nd minute.

Nairobi Stima, who are five points shy of second-placed KCB will face the Bankers in the final match as they battle for a place in the promotion playoff.

Meanwhile, KCB requires only two points from the last two matches to seal automatic qualification to next season’s top tier. This comes following the Bankers’ 0-2 win over Coast Stima at the Mbaraki Sports Club, which saw them hit the 72-point mark from 34 matches where Dennis Ng’ang’a and Chrispinus Onyango were on target.

Ushuru also put themselves in the frame for a playoff berth following a 4-0 win over GFE 105 at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.
