Barcelona kick off their pre-season with a fixture with plenty of recent history. The Catalans beat Juventus in the 2015 Champions League final, only to be knocked out of the competition at the quarter-final stage by the Italians back in April.
Since then, the Blaugrana have appointed a new manager and Ernesto Valverde has been working with his new charges for the last couple of weeks.
While arch rivals Real Madrid have allowed star man Cristiano Ronaldo to miss the International Champions Cup, Barcelona have brought Lionel Messi with them to the United States, along with Luis Suarez and Paris Saint-Germain target Neymar.
Juve, meanwhile, have been involved in one of the most high-profile transfers of the window so far, selling Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan as well as allowing former Barca right-back Dani Alves to join PSG.
The Italian champions will look to streghthen their squad before the start of the season, although they have made a couple of shrewd signings bringing in Douglas Costa on loan and buying Italy international right-back Mattia De Sciglio.
Despite winning their Champions League tie 3-0 on aggregate three months ago, Juve remain outsiders for the clash in New Jersey with bet365 pricing them at 2/1 (3.00) . Barcelona, for their part, can be backed at 6/5 (2.20) while the draw is offered at 13/5 (3.60).
This fixture is the first game of pre-season for both sides and as such it is likely that the tempo is perhaps a little slower than we would normally expect. Both managers will surely use the game to get a look at new players with Valverde in particular having plenty to see given that this is his first game in charge.
The last match between these two sides finished 0-0 at the Camp Nou, and the price of 11/10 (2.10) for under 2.5 goals in the game should not be ignored.
