‘I want Messi!’ - Arsenal target Ozyakup set to stay at Besiktas, says president

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has insisted that midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup is staying with the club, claiming that he would like to further strengthen by bringing in Lionel Messi.

Midfielder Ozyakup is a target of both Arsenal and Napoli, with Arsene Wenger looking to bring the former Gunner back to the Emirates Stadium after five years away from the club.

The 24-year-old has developed at Besiktas, and has played 25 international games for Turkey since switching allegiance from the country of his birth, Netherlands.

Ozyakup has been linked with a transfer away from Besiktas, but Orman is confident that the midfielder is going nowhere.

"There are many stories about Oguzhan's possible transfer to Europe. But we did not receive such an offer," the club president told Mackolik Radyo

"Oguzhan's contract will be extended. We only need to add the signatures. It will be for another five years."

As well as signing Ozyakup for another five years, Orman was asked which player he would like to sign in the future, picking a dream signing for the Super Lig leaders.

"I want Messi from La Liga," Orman jokingly replied.

Messi's current deal at Barcelona expires in June 2018, so Besiktas might have to wait a year to get their man.
