The former Buccaneers striker has been training with the Lions of the North as he looks to secure a permanent move

Highlands Park head coach Owen Da Gama has revealed that he is considering signing former Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town striker Tendai Ndoro.

Ndoro was last on the books of the Urban Warriors where he experienced a rather controversial stint due to his ineligibility, which invariably led to the club being relegated from the top flight.

The Zimbabwean has since been released by Ajax and while club’s such as Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with a move for Ndoro, the 33-year-old has emerged at the Lions of the North.

Highlands Park coach Da Gama, previously confirmed to Goal that the club were looking at Ndoro as they hope to maintain their status in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

However, while Ndoro is still training with Highlands Park, Da Gama has revealed that the club are yet to make an offer for the former Al Faisaly hitman.

“He is still training with us, but nothing has changed yet,” Da Gama told Phakaaathi.

Da Gama though has revealed that he is keen on bringing Ndoro on board but is wary of the financial implications that capturing a player of Ndoro’s calibre will demand.

“I am waiting to meet our director to talk about it because it is not just about the playing side, there are other aspects to this, so I need to speak to Larry first, and pretty soon will understand where we are,” he added.

“We need to respect the player, he is a good player with lots of experience and we need to show him the respect he deserves, after my meeting with Larry [I] will know more,” Da Gama concluded.

Highlands Park are currently in 11th place on the league standings and are yet to win a game. Da Gama will hope that if they are able to successfully rope in Ndoro, they could help them plot their way up the PSL ladder.
