The Lions of the North boss has indicated that they are not under pressure to sign the former Buccaneers striker

Despite announcing that he wants to bolster his team, Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama has denied that former Ajax Cape Town skipper Travis Graham is training with his team.

The Lions of the North boss spoke to Goal on Friday, saying they are not in a hurry to sign former Orlando Pirates striker Tendai Ndoro because he is a free agent, but said they will announce next week.

“No, we do not have Travis with us. Look, I confirmed with you that Ndoro is training with us and we liked what we have seen,” Da Gama told Goal on Friday.

“With Ndoro there is nothing for now, but we will know next week and make an announcement. Remember he is a free agent and the transfer deadline is not really pushing us," he added.

“Yes, Ayanda (Gcaba) has left and there is nothing happening for us on this day,” concluded the coach.

Graham is currently clubless as he spent the past season away from the Urban Warriors' first team after reportedly handing in a transfer request which led to a fall out with the club's hierarchy.

On the other hand, the Lions of the North have recently invited one of the former Urban Warriors players in midfielder in Ndiviwe Mdabuka, but he has since left the club after failing to impress the 2017/18 National First Division (NFD) champions.

After parting ways with the Mother City side before the current 2019/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, Ndoro is now looking for a club and with 'ODG' seemingly impressed, it looks like 'Fire' could get a contract next week after impressing in training.

In the current term, Highlands Park are yet to taste a win in the PSL having drawn four league matches against the Buccaneers, Baroka FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Black Leopards.
