Harambee Starlets head coach David Ouma has hailed the impact of the unified Women’s League as he hit camp with the national team ahead of the forthcoming Cecafa Women Championships.
Starlets reported to camp on Wednesday, in readiness for the regional championship set to be staged in Rwanda between May 11 and May 22, 2018.
Ouma, who recently oversaw a 1-0 aggregate win over Uganda in an Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifier, believes that competition in the unified 16 team Women’s league will bear positive results for the National team.
“Unlike last season, a unified league 2018 season is a positive step by FKF,”Ouma was quoted by the FKF website.
“There is tremendous growth in the levels of competition which in translates to better match fitness for the players.
"This is healthy for the National team."
Ouma took over the team from Richard Kanyi early in April.
