Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will honour 2018 Caf assignments after the government bailed out the two Kenyan giants.

This is after the Ministry of Sports, Art and Culture committed funds towards the continental engagements.

The government was forced to lend a helping hand after the two clubs' were left with no sponsors following the untimely withdrawal of SportsPesa.

The gaming giants terminated their contracts early this year in protest of the proposed 35 percent tax on all gambling revenues.

But the Kenyan government lowered the financial baggage off Gor Mahia and Ingwe's shoulders after committing Sh10 million each for both teams for each leg.

The money will be disbursed to the clubs through Football Kenya Federation with the first batch expected by next week. Kenyan champions, Gor Mahia will be fighting for the Caf Champions League title as Ingwe takes part in the Caf Confederation Cup.

The first round of matches are set for between February 9-11 in Kenya.

K'Ogalo will host Leones Vegetarianos of Equatorials Guinea at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos with Ingwe welcoming Fosa Juniors of Madagascar for the first round of preliminary matches.
