Gor Mahia promising striker, Ian Otieno may be sent out on loan, Goal can reveal.
Otieno who signed a four-year deal with champions this year may join either Vihiga United or Wazito FC, though the latter remains the most likely destination for the budding striker who joined the senior team from the youth ranks.
"The club is working on ensuring that he get more play time. He’s is a good player but at the moment his position is a bit competitive,” a source within the club told Goal.
Otieno is set to meet Gor Mahia CEO, Lodvic Aduda on Thursday for a talk that will define his future, either away or at the club.
“We are taking his case with all the seriousness it deserves because he is a talented player and in the future plans of the club.”
According to our source, the deal is being dragged due to the fact that the technical bench wants the player to stay at the club, but some quarters are of the opinion that he should be let to seek experience elsewhere.
Gor Mahia are currently on a pre-season camp at Egerton University in Nakuru County in readiness for the upcoming season.
