Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr appeals to Kenyan fans to start attending matches

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has challenged Kenyan football fans to start attending matches in the stadia.

While reacting to the mammoth attendance witnessed during Gor Mahia match against Hull City on Sunday, the former English professional challenged the local fans to continue with the same spirit by attending domestic games.

“The fans were fantastic and I want to thank them for showing up in large numbers. This is what Kenyan football should be like,” Kerr told Goal after the game.

Meanwhile, the outspoken coach was left fuming at the Match Commissioner for changing rules of the game midway through after he was denied a chance to play his entire squad in the friendly.

Kerr had promised all his players game time against Hull City, but he was allowed only three substitutions after the organizers moved the goal post after kick-off.

“I had promised my players that they will all play in the game only for the match Commissioner to change the rules midway. I am disappointed with the officials!”

The match went straight to a penalty shootouts after both teams had settled for a 0-0 draw after normal time.

Gor Mahia will next take on Algerian side, USM Alger in the Caf Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
