A sensational strike by Ramahlwe Mphahlele ensured that the Soweto giants bounced back following their recent 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby last weekend.
“My team showed character after the loss in the Derby. Today the reaction is really positive, they showed the desire and commitment. It was a great performance,” Solinas told SuperSport TV.
“We have some players who were not 100% fit because they come from injuries like (Leonardo) Castro. He said to me I must change him and at the same time (Khama) Billiat said he has cramps,” added the coach.
“So I said, Castro continue to play and at that moment I put in a defender to kill the game,” he explained.
“Dax (Andiramirado Andrianarimana) is also coming from injury, and last week it was his first week training with the team and he needs time to understand the team and the PSL league,” he continued.
“Now when Dax is okay, we will give him a chance and he is a foreign player, he needs to play for Kaizer Chiefs,” he responded.
"The goal was outstanding by Rama (Mphahlele)..he was unbelievable and today I appreciate the performance. Rama is very intelligent to move forward and stay at the back at the right moment...it was a great performance,” concluded the coach.
Meanwhile, the Naturena-based side will face their rivals in the semi-finals of the competition and Solinas will hope to bag his first win over the Buccaneers.
