The 22-year-old revealed last year his readiness to represent the Yanks on international stage if approached, after he was neglected on several occasions by coach Kwesi Appiah.
“I don’t think that Latif Blessing is going to switch nationality in the future," Afriyie was quoted as saying by Citifmonline.
“He is my son and I don’t think there is anything like that. Sometimes, players get very frustrated because they are playing very well and so think it is time to get a call-up to the Black Stars," he said.
“Let us leave that to the coach because if the coach sees him in his plans, he will definitely give him a call-up to represent the country,” he added.
Blessing scored six goals in his debut campaign in Major League Soccer with Sporting Kansas after joining from Liberty Professionals.
He won the topscorer award of the 2015-16 Ghana Premier League season after scoring 17 goals.
