Football needs to return to Ghana as soon as possible, says Konadu

Ghana assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has urged the Normalisation Committee set up by Fifa to begin the process to resume local competitions in the country.

All football-related activities have been suspended since June in the wake of a documentary that unveiled corrupt practices involving referees and administrators.

"We need to play football in Ghana. We need to play our league and all the domestic competitions because the players are just there doing nothing," Konadu told Otec FM.

"We have very good players at home but because their clubs are not active, they are not doing anything to realise their dreams. The Black Stars B even had an international friendly with Namibia last weekend but we couldn't involve some of them in this exercise.

"I'm pleading with the Normalisation Committee and other authorities in charge to ensure that we play football in the country as soon as possible," he added.

Asante Kotoko will be participating in the Caf Confederation Cup after obtaining clearance from the Normalisation Committee.
