Sofapaka President Elly Kalekwa believes the team is now ready to challenge for the league title this season as compared to the previous one.
Batoto ba Mungu released the likes of Mathews Kigonya, Bernard Mang'oli, Ezekiel Okare, Rodgers Aloro and Kevin Kimani. The team went on to recruit Cliff Kasuti, Justine Ndikumanga, Soter Kasumba, Titus Achesa and Tom Adwar.
With coach Melis Medo on board, Kalekwa is convinced the team can do even better in all competitions. “The team is stronger, the players we have signed are experienced and talented as well meaning the quality of our game will go a notch higher.
“Our main objective has always been to win the matches we take part in and that is why we go for players who can help us achieve that.”
Sofapaka finished fifth in the league and lost in FKF Shield Cup final last season
