Crystal Palace 17-18
Frank de Boer's men will start work under their new manager against Maidstone United, prior to a trip to Hong Kong for the Premier League Asia Trophy

Crystal Palace are under new management. After the shock resignation of Sam Allardyce following the conclusion of last season, the Eagles took the bold step of appointing former Ajax boss Frank de Boer.

Handed a three-year contract, De Boer is, many would say, the antithesis to Allardyce, and his appointment holds no shortage of intrigue.

All the latest transfer rumours & gossip

A manager who focuses on youth and developing his own stars, De Boer will run the rule over his squad in pre-season, with Palace facing a mixture of opponents ahead of their Premier League curtain-raiser in August.

Goal takes a look at their upcoming fixtures.

Date Opponent Time Venue
Jul-15 Maidstone United 13:00 Gallagher Stadium, England
Jul-19 Liverpool 11:00 Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong
Jul-22 West Brom 01:00 Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong
Jul-29 Metz 14:00 Stade Saint-Symphorien, France
Aug-05 Schalke 04 15:00 Selhurst Park, England

The Eagles kicked off proceedings at the humble home of National League Maidstone United, whom they defeated 3-1 in De Boer's non-competitive bow in charge.

Palace then jetted off to Hong Kong to take part in the Premier League Asia Trophy, featuring Liverpool, Leicester and West Brom in the Far East.

De Boer's men suffered a 2-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, meaning they will now contest the third-place play-off against West Brom, who were beaten on penalties by Leicester.

Continuing to clock up air miles, Palace will subsequently fly to France to take on Metz, who finished 14th in Ligue 1 last season.

Finally, Palace will take on Schalke at Selhurst Park, in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.

Palace open their Premier League season with a potential banana skin, as they face newly-promoted Huddersfield Town at Selhurst Park on August 12.

Town won the Championship play-off final against Reading at Wembley and will hope to claim a prize scalp on their first day back in the top-flight.

De Boer’s side will then face familiar opponents, meeting Liverpool at Anfield in a more competitive re-run of their Asia Trophy friendly.
