Coach Rasmussen of Ghana Premier League side Wafa terminates contract

Wafa coach Klavs Rasmussen has thrown in the towel just after eight matches into the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season.

The Sogakope-based club are facing a poor start to the campaign, failing to pick a win in their last five games and currently sitting one place above the relegation zone.

Rasmussen guided the team to a second-place finish last season but had been struggling to repeat that feat this term.

"I believe I did my best and had to leave at a point. It was a personal decision to quit the club after several good moments shared together," he said.

"I wish them the best of luck and thanks them also for the opportunity they gave me," he added.

Rasmussen is the second coach to leave the club within four months after his former assistant Akakpo Patron left to join Asante Kotoko.

Goal understands that assistant Moro Ibrahim has been appointed as the interim coach.
