SuperSport United are assessing Cameroonian forward Christian Epoupa Ntouba as they look to bolster their attacking department before the January transfer window closes.

Coach Eric Tinkler stated that SuperSport were looking to bring in at least two more players during the current transfer window with a striker their number one priority.

While they have since gone on to sign Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele on loan, as they look to fill the void left by star striker Jeremy Brockie, reports have now emerged that Tinkler has found another player to run the rule over.

According to reports, Ntouba is the latest player to find himself at the Tshwane-based outfit, and will look to impress the 47-year-old mentor.

Ntouba, who is currently on the books of Zimbabwean Premier League outfit Dynamos, was most recently training with Bidvest Wits, but has since resurfaced at SuperSport with an eye on sealing a move to the South African topflight.

It was previously believed that both Kaizer Chiefs as well as Orlando Pirates were interested in the player, but his agent had previously revealed that there was no contact from either side.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether or not coach Tinkler will opt to sign the striker, who scored 12 goals during the 2017 league season, but if Ntouba’s trial does prove successful then he will be a welcome addition to an attacking department which could be considered as being slightly on the thin side.

Currently, Tinkler only has Kingston Nkhatha as well as youngster Darren Smith at his disposal, with Bradley Grobler still out injured.

The Tshwane giants find themselves in a rather precarious situation as they are hovering dangerously above the relegation zone, and Tinkler will hope that he can soon find a solution to his side’s recent slump, especially upfront were they have not been scoring much.
