Caf have slapped Raja Casablanca striker Moussine Iajour with a three-match suspension for head-butting an AS Vita player last Sunday.
Iajour was shown a red card following the incident that happened after the match which Raja won 3-0. While the red card already sidelined him from this Sunday’s return leg in Kinshasa, Iajour will have to serve his suspension for two more Caf inter-club matches.
Caf have also come hard on Raja by imposing a $5 000 fine after their fans halted play for three minutes due to reduced visibility caused by excessive smoke from flares.
The ill-tempered match also saw Raja fans throwing missiles onto the pitch. Thus, the following decisions were taken against Raja Casablanca: "The suspension of the player number 9 Moussine Iajour for his next three matches,
"AS Vita Club (DR Congo) vs Raja Casablanca (Morocco) and his next two games in the context of the Caf inter-club competitions,” read a statement by Caf.
“A fine of US$5 000 (five thousand UD dollars) for the use of smoke by supporters. A fine of US$5 000 (five thousand US dollars) for throwing bottles and other projectiles by the supporters.”
While Raja will have to deal with Iajour’s absence on Sunday, AS Vita will also be missing defender Yannick Bangala who was also red-carded in the first leg.
