Frederick Boateng is excited with his debut game for Asante Kotoko after scoring the winner in a 2-1 victory over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in January, fetched the match-winner late in the game after Solomon Gyesi cancelled out Obed Owusu's opener.

"I'm very delighted with my performance especially since I scored the winner. Honestly, today proved to be a special day," Boateng said.

"We needed this victory badly, since we were coming from a painful defeat against Ashanti Gold. It was somehow a bittersweet moment too as the winning goal was against my former club but that was how it should be.

"I believe that with dedication and adhering to instructions, I can be a great player here. I want to score many goals before the season ends and help the club to achieve success," he added.

Boateng was also impressed with the home fans that chanted his name throughout the second-half, advising them to continue.

"The supporters were marvelous and they indeed proved that this club is a great one. Their action even when the scoreline was 1-1 motivated us to keep fighting," he said.

"I'm really impressed and I hope they continue because there are lots of big games ahead which we need to win to be able to challenge for the ultimate," he added.
