If punters are looking to back goals this weekend, then avoiding the clash between Nice and Reims looks a wise move.
Despite the Ligue 1 pair sitting in the top half of the table, their games rarely prove to be entertaining affairs. That lack of goal scoring potency though, makes another bet an attractive option.
Reims are 5/4 (2.25) favourites to win the game while Nice - who boast the third-best away record in the French top-flight - are 9/4 (3.25). The draw looks the best selection though, priced at 43/20 (3.15) with 888Sport.
Under 2.5 goals is an industry-best price of 4/7 (1.57) with the same firm and it's no surprise to see such a relatively skinny quote on that outcome given the stats regarding their performances.
Both sides rank in the top four for defence. Nice have conceded just 18 times this season with Reims leaking just once more. That despite both sides having played 20 games this term, more than both Paris Saint-Germain (18) and Montpellier (19) who are the only teams ranking above them in that metric.
At the other end of the pitch though, there have been issues for these sides. Nice have netted just 15 goals, an average of 0.75 per game while Reims have only managed 16 in the campaign to date.
With that in mind, backing the 43/20 (3.15) about a draw between the pair looks a great option. Taking the last six Ligue 1 games played by each side into account, eight of them have ended all square. Seven of those ended either 1-1 or 0-0.
No team have drawn more games this season than Reims who have seen nine stalemates overall, that's 45 per cent of their league matches. With Nice also struggling in the final third but boasting an impressive defensive record, the 43/20 (3.15) about the teams sharing the points looks the best selection.
