Lucien Favre's men lost 2-1 in Bavaria on Friday night and only remain top on goal difference following a poor set of results in their last five games

Borussia Dortmund’s lead at the top of Bundesliga was cut to just goal difference after they were stunned 2-1 at relegation-threatened Augsburg.

A brace from Ji Dong-won gave the 9/2 (5.50) outsiders just their fifth win of the season and extended Dortmund’s miserable run into March, with Lucien Favre’s men having won just one of their last five league games.

A correct score wager on the 2-1 home win would have landed at 16/1 (17.0). That's of little surprise considering Dortmund were 57/100 (1.57) favourites and had not lost a league game since December 18.

Three draws and one loss in Dortmund’s last five has seen Bayern Munich erase a six point advantage though, with bet365 now making Dortmund 9/4 (3.25) and Bayern just 1/3 (1.33) to win the title.

Dortmund had previously been 8/13 (1.62) to come out on top but a poor string of results has seen them drift, with Friday’s loss allowing Bayern to catch them to draw level on points for the first time since September.

Elsewhere in Germany, Fortuna Dusselforf moved 12 points clear of the relegation zone with a huge 4-0 win at Schalke, defying 16/5 (4.20) odds in the 1X2 market.

Backing a 4-0 away win was priced at a massive 125/1 (126.0) and was Dusseldorf’s seventh victory in their last 10 games. Only Bayern have taken more points in that span.

In Italy, Inter’s Champions League aspirations took yet another hit as they lost 2-1 at 17/4 (5.25) Cagliari, with Leonardo Pavoletti netting the winner for the Serie A strugglers.

The Milan outfit were bet365’s 7/10 (1.70) favourites to claim their third win in four league games, but Luciano Spalletti’s men could not capitalise.

The result means Inter are still three points clear of Roma in fifth and 8/15 (1.53) to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League for the second season in a row.
