At the final whistle, Belotti opted to trade jerseys with his national team colleague Bonucci.

Rather than allow the centre-half to leave the field with his shirt, though, the 23-year-old instead headed to the stands to gift his to Lorenzo Bonucci.

Bonucci junior is a well-known Torino fan, having been brought up in Turin during his father’s time with Juventus.

Rather than choose to support the Bianconeri, Lorenzo opted to follow their cross-city rivals.

Bonucci posted several pictures of his son wearing both Juventus and Torino jerseys last season in an effort to help calm derby rivalries between the clubs.

Lorenzo would have had split allegiances again on Sunday, as he saw his favourite team take on that of his father.

In the end, though, everybody got to go home happy following stalemate over the course of 90 minutes and a heart-warming gesture from Belotti at the final whistle.

The result has kept Torino locked in mid-table, while Milan have taken the decision to part with manager Vincenzo Montella on the back of a goalless draw which has them just one point better off in seventh place.
