David Beckham has publicly defended kissing his daughter, Harper, on the lips in an Instagram post.
The former England captain posted a photo of himself and Harper, five, in early June, with the caption “kiss for daddy”.
However, Beckham was subsequently criticised by some fans and he has now been forced to defend the snap.
"I got criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day," he said in a Facebook Live interview.
"I kiss all my kids on the lips.
"Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn's 18, he might find that a little bit strange.
"But I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children.
"We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and you know, we're very affectionate with them."
Beckham’s wife, Victoria, underwent similar criticisms after posting a picture of her kissing Harper in July.
