Barnsley confident of Yiadom's fitness for Norwich showdown

Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom believes fullback Andy Yiadom will be fit in time for Saturday's league clash with Norwich City.

The Ghanaian is still nursing a knee injury picked up against Queens Park Rangers, despite later playing the entire duration of last weekend's draw with Ipswich Town.

The 25-year-old has been an influential member of the Tykes' campaign this season, having made 30 appearances involving 29 starts thus far.

"We've been looking after Yids [Yiadom] with his knee, and a few others are sore in places but other than that we're okay," Heckingbottom told the press.

"I think they'll be okay for the weekend.

"This is one of the reasons you need to know your players, as individuals.

"The more you know about them as people, the easier it is to gauge where they are at when they've picked up a knock."

Yiadom joined Barnsley from fellow lower division outfit Barnet in summer last year, after times with Braintree Town and Hayes & Yeading FC.

The Tykes currently sit 11th on the Championship table.
