Ayew brothers dropped from Ghana squad to face Uganda

Ghana deputy captain Andre Ayew and younger brother Jordan Ayew have been left out of the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Uganda on October 7, according to Goal's sources.

The Ayews, who missed Ghana’s 5-1 drubbing of Congo in Brazzaville weeks ago, have been overlooked and the decision, although not officially confirmed, casts further doubt on both men’s international future under coach Kwesi Appiah.

Andre complained of a thigh injury while Jordan had a stomach upset ahead of the Congo encounter.

According to Goal's sources, Malmo FF midfielder Kingsley Sarfo and BSC Young Boys youngster Kasim Nuhu Adams have been handed call-ups to join the team.

Injured captain Asamoah Gyan is expected to pass late fitness test before he can make the squad and there will likely be new faces from the team that won the Wafu Cup against Nigeria.

The Black Stars are expected to camp in Kenya on October 4 ahead of the game against the Cranes in Namboole and will play Saudi Arabia in an international friendly on October 10.

Ghana sit third in Group E with five points, four points behind Egypt who will host Congo in Alexandria.
