Ashanti Gold goalkeeper Dabou eyes improved performance in Ghana PL

The shot-stopper is optimistic of hitting top form after fully recovering from a career-threatening injury

Ashanti Gold goalkeeper Robert Dabou is excited after fully recovering from a broken leg he suffered last season.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury during a pre-season friendly against second-tier side Asokwa Deportivo in December, which ruled him out of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.

However, he has been actively part of the club's pre-season ahead of the 2017-18 season.

“I feel so great that I’m able to stand on my feet again and train with my colleagues. I’m asking my fans to keep on praying for me," Dabou told Footballmadeinghana.

“I’m coming back stronger than before because I never quit when there's a terrible situation. I’m not a quitter that's why I worked so hard to be back.

"Now, it will depend on my training whether or not we’re going to see the old Robert Dabou. I’m praying that I get a good season and help my club win either the league or the FA cup,” he added.

Dabou joined Ashanti Gold from Wa All Stars and was part of the Ghana squad that won the 2009 World Youth Championship in Egypt.
