Annan wants to win Wafu trophy to appease Ghanaians

Ghana goalkeeper Felix Annan believes they will redeem themselves against Gambia in the opening game of the 2017 Wafu competition on Saturday after failing to qualify to the African Nations Championship (Chan).

The Asante Kotoko shot-stopper was part of the Black Stars B squad that were eliminated from the qualifiers by Burkina Faso at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last month.

This time, he wants to win the Wafu trophy to make Ghanaians happy.

“We knew we have disappointed Ghanaians for not been able to qualify for the 2018 Chan. This was not what we are all expected but it happened,” Annan told footballmadeinghana.com.

“We shall go all out in this second chance we have gotten to participate in the Wafu competition. We shall do everything possible to make Ghanaians happy.

“I believe that preparations have been very well and attitude in camp has also been perfect. Everybody will give his maximum best for us to win the trophy.

“We will take it game after game and we shall win all starting with Gambia on Saturday," he added.

The tournament will take place at Cape Coast Sports Stadium and Nduom Sports Complex in Elmina. The winner will take home $100,000.
