AFC Leopards targets a top striker in June transfer window

AFC Leopards will be busy in the transfer market in search for a top striker.

Club chairman Dan Mule says that for the team to do well in the second leg of the Kenyan Premier League, there should be a massive boost to the current squad.

“It is true that we are looking forward to improving our results. I had a meeting with players and the technical bench and we are hoping to see a changed team,” Mule told Goal.

Mule added that the club is indeed in full gear in the transfer market and will be targeting to sign two defenders, one holding midfielder and a top striker. This comes as the club prepares to kick out foreign players with two already shown the door.

Nigerian Henry Uche and Ghanaian Erick Bekoe Kwabena have since been released by Ingwe after a stint of less than six months. Mule further revealed that more foreign players would follow suit but defended his transfer policy.

“The last transfer window we gave the coach the entire mandate for selection and recruitment and also we were under pressure from fans to sign players from abroad. We cannot regret but it is important to learn good lessons.

“Going to the next window every player, who would wish to join or be signed by AFC Leopards must be playing for his respective national team.”
