Indian Super League (ISL) runners-up Bengaluru FC have been drawn against Turkmenistan's Altyn Asyr in the Inter-Zonal semifinals of the AFC Cup 2018.
The Blues will host the Turkmenistani outfit in the first leg at the Sree Kanteerava stadium before travelling to Balkanabat for the return leg. The first leg will be held on 22 August 2018 and the return leg has been scheduled for 29 August 2018.
Bengaluru qualified for the Inter-Zonal playoffs after winning the South Zone group which comprised of Aizawl FC, Bangladesh's Abahani Dhaka and Maldives' New Radiant SC. Altyn Asyr won the Central Zone group which consisted of 2017 AFC Cup runners-up FC Istiklol, FC Ahal and FC Alay.
Altyn Asyr are a dominant force in Turkmenistan football, having won the first division league in the previous four seasons.
The second semifinal will see the ASEAN Zone champions (either Ceres Negros of the Philippines or Home United of Singapore) take on North Korea's 4.25 SC.
The winners progress to the two-legged Inter-Zonal final and the winner of that tie will pit their wits against the West Zone champions (either Air Force Club of Iraq or Al Jazeera of Jordan) in the Grand Final.
