The former Porcupine Warriors midfielder has hit out at the club's supporters, insisting that they are part of the team’s problems

Asante Kotoko former midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei claims the behaviour of the supporters of the club have resulted in the team's recent poor showing in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have gone six games without a win and have dropped four places on the log, sitting nine points behind leaders Wafa. The 31-year-old, who currently plays for TP Mazembe, says the pressure on coaches to perform results to their sacking.

"I don't understand why some of the Kotoko supporters are saying the team is not moving on well. You had a coach, who was winning without conceding but you said he was not good so he should be sacked," Adjei said.

"Didi Dramani won the league title for Kotoko and the following season the supporters said they should sack him. So what kind of coach do you want again? Most of the bad things currently going on in the team are from them.

"Football is not the way you think it should be. Footballers go to the field to do their best to win. So if your team don't win, you have to take it in good faith and wish for the best in the future. Even in life, one can't get everything he wants so the supporters should not complain too much," he added.

Kotoko will travel to Accra on Saturday to lock horns with Great Olympics in the penultimate match of the first round.
