Bechem United will ‘take part in Caf Confederations Cup’

The new Ghana FA Cup champions appear to have the means to run a continental campaign despite fears they could pull out

Newly crowned Ghana FA Cup champions Bechem United will participate in next year’s Caf Confederation Cup, according to team manager Nana Kwesi Darlen.

The Hunters defeated Okwahu United 2-1 to win their first ever silverware, earning a spot in the continental competition but earlier reports suggested that Bechem could withdraw their participation due to financial reasons.

“Bechem United will participate in next seasons Caf Confederations Cup and I promise you the club has the financial backing to participate in the competition to make Ghana proud.

“We will need the support of all Ghanaians,” Darlen told Koforidua-based Kingdom 101.9FM.

”Winning the MTN FA Cup is the best feeling ever in my life as a football Administrator; we put the ball on the turf and control it very well: our style of play is like Barcelona,” he said.

Bechem are currently 8th on the Ghana Premier League log with 38 points, 10 adrift of leaders Wa All Stars, and have upcoming games against New Edubiase, Dreams FC and Liberty Professionals to conclude the season.
