Italian Serie A side Atalanta have completed a four-year signing of former Ghana youth international Patrick Asmah in an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old former Accra United player was also on the radar of French side SC Bastia but Atalanta president Antonio Percassi and coach Edy Reja showed more interest in his services.
“I’m delighted with the opportunity given to me by Atalanta,” Asmah told Goal.
“I’ve been longing for this opportunity after the World Cup (U-20) last year and I think this will provide a perfect opportunity for me to improve my career.
“I’m waiting to meet my new teammates and the entire technical team and then start working seriously because there is no time to waste,” he added.
Asmah was part of Ghana U-20 team that participated in the 2015 World Youth Championship in New Zealand.
