Attram happy to win Zambia Super League title with Zanaco

The striker is delighted to help the Bankers win the Zambia top-flight for the first time in four years

Zanaco SC striker Kwame Attram is excited to have played a major role as the club won the 2016 Zambia Super League title this week.

The 25-year-old joined the Bankers in August from DR. Congo club Groupe Spotive Bazano, scoring important goals as they won their seventh league title and first since 2012.

A 1-0 win over Lumwana Radiants on Wednesday confirmed Zanaco as champions with 75 points, eight points more than rivals Nkana FC with two games to spare.

“The Feeling is just so great. It’s wonderful to win something after one put in a lot of hard work. We thank God for a successful season," Attram told

“We want to go as far as possible in the [CAF] Champions League. We want to make Zambia, ourselves and our families proud. By Gods grace we will do so,” he added.

Zanaco will be presented the league trophy and medals on Saturday after their game against Mufulira Blackpool at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.

They have now become the third most successful club in Zambia behind Nkana and Mufulira Wanderers who have won twelve and nine league titles respectively.
