Ghana-born German Odonkor eyes Uefa License A coaching certificate

The SC Verl assistant coach wants to upgrade himself after enjoying his stint with young players

Former German international of Ghanaian descent David Odonkor is relishing a coaching session with young players and wants to acquire a Uefa License A coaching certificate.

The 29-year-old was appointed the assistant coach of SC Verl a couple of months ago.

“It is great working with the young players and it is very interesting,” said the former lightning quick winger of the German national team.

Next spring Odonkor wants to take the course for A- coaching license after acquiring the B.

“When I pass my exams for the A-license with a good grade and then get suitable offers, I 'm going to work as a head coach,” Odonkor told Kicker.

The pacy winger played for Germany at the 2006 World Cup on home soil.
