thumbnail Hello,

The young right-back has not featured since suffering a knee ligament injury against Manchester United in September and will not return until the new campaign

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out Martin Kelly for the remainder of the season.

Kelly has not played competitively for the Reds since sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury during a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in September and his manager has admitted that even if he does recover in time for the final month of the season, he will likely be held back until 2013-14.

Rodgers told the club's official website: "Martin [Kelly] may well be back towards the beginning of May but that will be to join training. I'm not sure if he's going to be available to play this season.

"The feeling with him and Fabio [Borini] was that they would probably miss a big part of the season."

The Reds manager also revealed that Joe Allen will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery but confirmed there were no new injury worries following the international break.

He added: "Everyone has returned fit and ready.

"A lot of the players who have been on international duty have come back and the medical team has looked at them and everyone is fine.

"There are a couple of little niggles here and there but nothing that's going to keep anyone out."
