Vital goals makes the Brazilian one of the biggest factors behind Tottenham's journey to the final

Shunted from Paris Saint-Germain after the record breaking signing of Neymar, Lucas Moura played a huge role in propelling Tottenham Hotspur into their first European Cup final.

The Brazilian scored five goals in 13 appearances in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League including a memorable second-half hat-trick against Ajax in the semifinal second leg to send Spurs through on away goals - the fifth player to score a hat-trick in a Champions League semi-final after Alessandro Del Piero, Ivica Olic, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Traveling to the Johan Cruyff ArenA having faced a 1-0 defeat, Tottenham were facing the exit as Ajax scored twice in the first half to take the aggregate to 3-0. Striving to make a difference in the first half, the change of ends also saw change in fortunes.

Lucas began the surge back with a burst from the middle of the box to give Tottenham hope in the 55th minute. Four minutes later, he scrambled around half of Ajax's team and scored a second on the evening kept the come-back on, holding his nerve in the final seconds of injury to slip inside the box to score possibly the most valuable goal of his career.

That was not his only signifant contribution. Tottenham were with just a point after three group games. At this stage, Lucas scored against PSV Eindhoven in the 2-2 draw which ignited Mauricio Pochettino's side's resurgence in Group B.

At Camp Nou, Lucas bagged the late equaliser after Barcelona took an early lead. The 1-1 draw prooved sufficient for Tottenham to enter the knockout stage with the Spaniards.

It would be only just to have him in the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season.
