Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Leicester are next in action against Slavia Prague on the road during the week in the Europa League. Liverpool face RB Leipzig in Budapest in their Champions League knock-out contest on Tuesday.
Leicester City produce a brilliant comeback to defeat Liverpool 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in their Premier League clash. Mohamed Salah put the Reds ahead with a sublime finish following a neat piece of skill from Roberto Firmino. However, once James Maddison's strike from a free-kick was ruled a goal by VAR, the visitors capitulated in the final 10 minutes. A howler from Alisson allowed Jamie Vardy to fire the ball into an empty net and Harvey Barnes secured the three points with a powerful strike after another defensive lapse. Leicester move into second in the table, while Liverpool fall to a third-straight defeat.

H. Barnes
Goal
85' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! BARNES SCORES AS LIVERPOOL IMPLODE!!!!! 3-1!!!! The Foxes are in dreamland as Barnes fires home. Ndidi launches a simple ball over the top that finds the winger in acres of space down the left flank. On this occasion, he opens up his body and drills his effort past Alisson to all but secure the three points for the home side. Where was the Liverpool defence?
83' DOUBLE SAVE! Alisson keeps Liverpool in the game with a brilliant double stop. Barnes surges down the left flank and fires a right-footed strike towards goal. Alisson palms it away from the net, but the rebound falls to Vardy in the right inside channel. He powers an effort on target, but the Brazilian pushes it on to the post before Kabak clears the danger.
J. Vardy
Goal
81' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! A HOWLER FROM ALISSON ALLOWS VARDY TO SCORE!!! 2-1!!!! What a turnaround for the Foxes. Leicester take the lead as Tielemans launches a ball over the top that troubles Kabak and Alisson. The keeper rushes off his line and collides with the debutant. Vardy is presented with the ball and an open goal, which he needs no second invitation to bury into an empty net.
J. Maddison
Goal
78' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! MADDISON LEVELS AFTER A VAR REVIEW!!!! 1-1!!!!! Drama at the King Power Stadium as Maddison curls a strike in directly from a free-kick on the edge of the box. The goal is initially disallowed for offside against Amartey, who looks to have interfered with play ahead of Alisson. However, VAR looks at the incident and deems that the defender was played onside by the boot of Firmino. The Foxes have their equaliser.
77' Leicester are awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box as Thiago dangles out a leg and brings down Barnes. The margin is so fine, but there is no penalty after a VAR review.
A. Oxlade-Chamberlain
C. Jones
75' Oxlade-Chamberlain replaces Jones in the Liverpool midfield.
Ayoze Pérez
M. Albrighton
74' Perez replaces Albrighton in the final third for the home side.

72' Maddison curls a cross into the box from the resulting free-kick, but his effort is gathered with ease by Alisson.
O. Kabak
Yellow Card
71' Kabak blocks off the run of Barnes down the left flank and goes into the book.
70' Salah has scored his 17th PL goal of the season - four more than any other player.

Roberto Firmino
Assist
67' Firmino collects Alexander-Arnold's cross and turns away from two defenders before flicking a pass to Salah, who provides the finish.
Mohamed Salah
Goal
67' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! SALAH BREAKS THE DEADLOCK!!! 1-0 LIVERPOOL!!!! Salah bends a fine strike into the top-left corner to put Liverpool in front. Alexander-Arnold bursts down the right after seeing a strike from distance blocked. He cuts a cross back to Firmino, who turns his way out of trouble and offloads to Salah with a sublime backheel. Salah finishes the move with a precise left-footed strike away from Schmeichel into the net.
66' Liverpool are edging the contest at the moment, but they're lacking the cutting edge to take the lead. Their usually potent strikeforce has been off the boil today.
64' Jones has space on the left flank, but he fails to offload towards Firmino in space and his cross to the back post evades Salah.
61' WIDE! Firmino rises to connect with a corner from Alexander-Arnold from the left flank. The Brazilian nods his effort wide of the post, although Amartey gets a piece of it on the way.
59' Liverpool have won just one of their last seven PL games when goalless at half-time (D3 L3), losing each of their last two since a 3-1 victory against West Ham last month.
57' OFF THE BAR! Alexander-Arnold is denied by the bar. The full-back takes the free-kick and his effort clips off the top of the wall. It carries on its path towards goal, only to cannon off the crossbar and bounce to safety.
55' Salah turns away from Ricardo, but gets brought down by the Leicester full-back. Liverpool have a free-kick 35 yards from goal.

51' OVER! Liverpool break upfield and Mane offloads to Robertson in space, but he can only slice his strike well over the bar.
51' Maddison's cross is repelled by the Liverpool defence, but he get another opportunity to send a low delivery towards the near post. Vardy is alive to the chance, but Alisson gets down to smother it at his feet.
50' Maddison is felled by Robertson on the left flank, which gives Leicester another chance to send a cross into the box.
49' Maddison's free-kick goes straight through into the hands of Alisson. Both sides are having issues with their deliveries from set-pieces today.
48' Alexander-Arnold grabs Barnes by the arm to prevent him latching on to a ball over the top. Leicester are awarded a free-kick in a useful position.
47' Jones has space and time on the edge of the box, but he can only drill his effort straight into the legs of Maddison.
46' We're back underway at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool enjoyed a good start to the contest, but Mohamed Salah wasted a number of promising positions, failing to test Kasper Schmeichel. It has been another one of those games for the Reds where they've been lacking in a clinical edge in the final third.
It's goalless at the break in the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Liverpool at the King Power Stadium. The Reds dominated possession, but the best chances of the half fell to Jamie Vardy. The forward was denied by the bar and Alisson with two efforts late in the period, giving the Foxes encouragement at the interval.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 0-0 LIVERPOOL
45' There will be one minute of added time.
45' SAVE! Vardy latches on to a ball over the top that Henderson fails to clear. He tries to stab his strike first time past Alisson, but the keeper remains big and makes the stop with his legs.
45' BLOCK! Alexander-Arnold lines up the free-kick, but Evans holds firm in the wall and blocks the strike.
43' Evans is limping after bringing down Mane. He has come off worse in the challenge and his condition will need monitoring by the Foxes.
J. Evans
Yellow Card
43' Evans brings down Mane on the charge and goes into the book. Liverpool are awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position.
42' OFF THE BAR! Maddison flicks a ball from Amartey into the path of Vardy, who remains onside. The forward surges into the box and blasts a strike at goal, but his effort clatters off the bar and travels over. A huge opportunity spurned by Vardy, who normally snaps up those chances.
41' Both sides are lacking a cutting edge at the moment. There have been opportunities, but neither team has looked sharp in front of goal.
39' BLOCK! Liverpool break with speed as Alexander-Arnold combines with Firmino to tee up Robertson. The left-back lines up a drive from the inside channel, but his effort is deflected wide of the post by Amartey.
37' Tielemans releases an offload into Barnes in space behind Alexander-Arnold. However, the winger takes a poor first touch and allows the Liverpool full-back to quell the break.
36' SAVE! Ricardo sends Barnes down the left flank and he opens up space for a cross into the box. Vardy drifts between Henderson and Kabak before guiding a header at goal, only to send his effort straight at Alisson.
34' Leicester are attempting to work their way into the game. Liverpool had the best of the early stages, but they've lost momentum.
32' Albrighton puts Robertson under pressure at the back as the Scot fails to control a long ball forward from Barnes. However, Alisson eases the pressure on his team-mate to gather in the box.
30' WIDE! Ndidi attacks the resulting corner from Maddison at the near post, but he cannot guide his header on target amid pressure from Henderson.
30' Ndidi wins possession for the Foxes deep in Liverpool territory. He feeds Maddison, who twists and turns before lining up a strike at goal. Kabak throws himself in the way of the shot and diverts it behind for a corner.
29' Leicester have a rare foray forward into the Liverpool half. Vardy runs at Henderson and tries to pick out Maddison, but Jones makes the interception on the edge of the box.
27' Schmeichel produces an outstanding save to deny Firmino from close range. An offside earlier in the move against Henderson would have disallowed the goal anyway, but the Dane did not know that at the time.
25' Salah feeds Firmino down the right inside channel, but the Brazilian is thwarted by Evans and Schmeichel to block his strike from a tight angle behind.
C. Jones
Yellow Card
24' Jones is the first man into the book as he brings down Barnes with a loose challenge.
22' Salah has another run at Ricardo down the right flank but the defender holds his own to only concede a corner.
20' CLOSE! Salah breaks behind the Leicester defence down the right flank and he cuts the ball back across the face of goal away from the onrushing Schmeichel. Amartey has to react in the middle and does just enough to force Mane off a strike at the back post.
Thiago Alcântara
J. Milner
17' Thiago comes on to replace Milner in the Liverpool midfield. A blow for the visitors.
17' WIDE! Salah latches on to Alexander-Arnold's corner that is half-cleared. He shoots on his left foot towards the target on the half-volley, but he sends his effort well wide of the right post.
16' Milner is in discomfort for the visitors and may have to make way. Thiago is preparing to come on on the sideline.

10' Henderson lifts a great ball over the top for Salah to latch on to behind the Leicester defence. He takes the ball in stride, but cannot get his strike away under pressure from Ricardo.
8' Liverpool continue to operate on the front foot, but they are yet to muster an effort at goal to trouble the Foxes.
6' Mane runs at the Leicester defence and angles a pass into the right inside channel for Salah. The Egyptian fails to connect with a solid offload and Soyuncu clears the danger.
5' Henderson reads the danger at the back to intercept a pass from Ndidi aimed towards Vardy. The forward would have been through on goal if not for the Liverpool skipper.
3' Alexander-Arnold lifts a ball over the top for Mane and the forward is behind the Leicester defence. He tries to offload towards Salah, but Soyuncu comes in with a closing challenge to concede only a corner.
2' Maddison tries a speculative effort from the half-way line after Leicester clear the Liverpool corner. However, Alisson is alert and claims the ball.
1' Robertson angles a cross into the box from the left flank that Soyuncu heads behind for a Liverpool corner.
1' We're underway at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester have lost their last three home Premier League games against Liverpool, their worst ever losing run in the league against the Reds.
Liverpool have made only two changes from their loss to Manchester City. Kabak slots straight into the team to make his debut for the Reds in the heart of the defence. He replaces Fabinho, who misses out with a muscle injury. Thiago drops to the bench as Milner gets the nod ahead of the Spaniard.
Leicester have made six changes to their side that beat Brighton in the FA Cup. Schmeichel returns between the posts, while Evans replaces the injured James Justin. Albrighton and Ricardo get the nod at the two wing-back spots as Thomas and Daley-Campbell drop to the bench. Vardy continues to spearhead the attack, but Maddison and Barnes are back alongside him with Perez and Under moving out of the line-up.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Thiago, Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Konstantinos Tsimikas, Xherdan Shaqiri, Rhys Williams, Nathaniel Phillips, Leighton Clarkson, Neco Williams.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3):  Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ozan Kabak, Jordan Henderson, Andrew Robertson; James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Curtis Jones; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: Danny Ward, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ayoze Perez, Cengiz Under, Hamza Choudhury, Nampalys Mendy, Christian Fuchs, Luke Thomas, Vontae Daley-Campbell.

Liverpool's season is in danger of falling out from under them. The Reds were hammered 4-1 by Manchester City last time out at Anfield, dropping their second game on the bounce. Jurgen Klopp's men have only won two out of their last nine matches, but those two triumphs did come on the road against Tottenham and West Ham. Liverpool will need their best performance to keep their slim hopes of competing for the title alive.
Leicester begin the day above Liverpool in the Premier League and with the opportunity to extend their advantage in third place up to six points. The Foxes advanced to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup during the week with a 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion, but now turn their focus back to the league. Brendan Rodgers' men have only lost one of their last 10 league games, although their last defeat came on home soil against Leeds United. The Northern Irishman will be eyeing a strong performance against his former club.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
