Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Chelsea's next game comes against Sevilla in the Champions League on the road on Wednesday. Tottenham are in Europa League action away at LASK on Thursday.
Chelsea and Tottenham play out a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge. Olivier Giroud could have well won the game for the home side in the closing stages, but he hit a tame effort straight at Hugo Lloris. The Spurs keeper also denied Mason Mount with a solid stop, while Steven Bergwijn and Serge Aurier had decent openings for the visitors in the first half. The draw is a fair result and one that both sides will probably have accepted before the start of the contest.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 0-0 TOTTENHAM
90' + 3' WIDE! Zouma gives the ball away in the final third and Lo Celso has space on the edge of the box. However, he fails to hit the target with his effort that looked more like an ambitious cross towards Lucas.

90' + 2' Lucas replaces Son for the final two minutes of the game.
90' + 2' CHANCE! Rodon heads his backpass short towards Lloris and allows Giroud to pounce. However, the Frenchman can only send a tame strike into the hands of Lloris. That was the moment Chelsea were waiting for.

Yellow Card
89' Reguilon brings down Kovacic on the charge and goes into the book.
87' Chelsea send a series of crosses into the box, but the visitors hold firm. James sends a delivery deep to the back post that Pulisic guides tamely into the hands of Lloris.
85' Pulisic twists and turns in the final third down the left inside channel, but Tottenham surround the American and ensure that he cannot penetrate further.
K. Havertz
H. Ziyech
83' Havertz replaces Ziyech for the closing stages of the game.
82' Ziyech angles a deep cross in from the corner, but it's an easy claim for Lloris at his back post.

80' Kovacic angles a cross deep into the box from the right flank, but Lloris comes off his line to ease the pressure on his defence to claim the ball.
O. Giroud
T. Abraham
79' Abraham has not been at his best tonight and makes way for Giroud.
77' Son has a surge into the Chelsea box, but he gets crowded out before he can threaten further.
M. Mount
Yellow Card
76' Mount sticks out a leg and brings down Lo Celso. He goes into the book for the hosts.
75' Chilwell is back on his feet and can continue for the home side.
74' Chilwell is down for the home side after a collision with Aurier. This will be a concern for Lampard on the sidelines.
C. Pulisic
T. Werner
74' Pulisic replaces Werner for the home side for the final 16 minutes.
72' Son whips a cross into the box and Hojbjerg glances it on at the near post. However, James and Kovacic do enough to keep Kane at bay at the back post.
71' Lo Celso presses down the left and wins a corner for the visitors. It could be a rare sight of goal for Spurs in the second half.
69' Chelsea are beginning to find their stride in the final third, but are still lacking the clinical edge required to break down Spurs.
68' Abraham almost breaks away from Rodon, but the defender does just enough to edge it away from the forward.
67' OVER! Chilwell sends a cross into the box from the left flank and Ziyech gets ahead of Reguilon. He lines up a strike at goal, but sends his effort on the half-volley over the bar.
G. Lo Celso
T. Ndombèlé
65' Lo Celso replaces Ndombele in the Spurs midfield. The latter was involved in the Europa League match during the week and may have just been tiring.
64' CLOSE! Werner beats one challenge down the left flank before whipping a dangerous cross to the back post. Abraham tries to get the wrong side of Dier and almost connects with an outstretched boot, but the ball travels wide of the post.
61' The second half has followed the same pattern as the first period. Neither side is giving anything away.

53' Reguilon and James duel it out again, but the Chelsea man goes into the book for putting a stray arm into the face of the Spaniard.
53' Reguilon and Kane combine down the left flank, but James does enough to block an attempted cross from the full-back.
51' James sends another pinpoint cross into the box for Abraham to attack. However, the forward fails to direct his header on target for the second time in a row.
S. Bergwijn
Yellow Card
50' Bergwijn trips Kovacic on the charge and goes into the book.
49' CHANCE! Abraham has to hit the target. James sends a dangerous cross in from the right flank after linking up with Ziyech. Abraham gets ahead of Rodon, but he fails to make contact with his header, glancing it away from goal.
47' Werner is penalised for handball in the box as he tries to turn Aurier and fire at goal from Ziyech's cross from the right flank.
46' We're back underway at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham will be satisfied with their performance in the first half. It has been disciplined and they have been a threat on the break. Chelsea have been too cautious at times and Frank Lampard will be urging his team to take the game to Spurs in the second half.
It's all square at the break in the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. It has been a half of few chances, but the best ones have fallen the way of the visitors. Steven Bergwijn sent a strike over the top, while Serge Aurier was denied by Edouard Mendy. At the other end, Timo Werner had a goal disallowed for offside. Both teams have been quiet to say the least in the final third.

38' WIDE! Abraham latches on to an offload from Ziyech and goes for a strike at goal, only to place his effort wide of the post.

21' Kante tries to release Werner down the left inside channel, but the German is caught offside. Werner is playing right on the edge of the Spurs defensive line, trying to break in behind.
19' The tempo of the game has not been overly quick. Chelsea have been measured in their approach since their defensive issues at the start of the season. Tottenham and Mourinho's approach is well noted - they don't give anything away.
17' The game is an interesting tactical battle. Both sides have been well deployed by their managers, who of course know each other very well.
15' SAVE! Aurier weaves his way through the Chelsea defence and he hammers a strike towards goal. Mendy has to get down quickly to palm it away.
14' Silva has to be alert at the back post to nod Bergwijn's cross away from Kane, conceding a corner in the process.

2' Ziyech attempts an ambitious strike on the half-volley from distance, but he sends his effort straight at Lloris.
1' We're underway at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have won their last three Premier League games against Spurs, more than they had in their previous eight against them (W2 D2 L4). They last won more consecutively against them in the competition between January 2000 and March 2002 (six games).
Only one player that started against Ludogorets during the week retains their place for Spurs this evening. Ndombele starts once again in the middle of the park as Mourinho brings his key players back into the fold. Lloris, Aurier, Dier and Reguilon return to the back line. The Portuguese makes one big decision to start Rodon ahead of Sanchez in place of the injured Toby Alderweireld. Hojbjerg and Sissoko sit in front of the defence, while Son and Bergwijn play in the wide areas behind Kane. Bale starts the game on the bench.
Chelsea have made three changes to their side that beat Rennes during the week. James returns to right-back in place of Azpilicueta. Kante gets the nod over Jorginho in the middle of the park, while Ziyech starts in the final third ahead of Callum Hudson-Odoi. Jorginho and Azpilicueta drop to the bench, although there's no place there for Hudson-Odoi.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Davinson Sanchez, Gareth Bale, Joe Hart, Giovani Lo Celso, Lucas Moura, Ben Davies, Carlos Vinicius.
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Hugo Lloris; Serge Aurier, Joe Rodon, Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon; Moussa Sissoko, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg; Son Heung-min, Tanguy Ndombele, Steven Bergwijn; Harry Kane.
CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalga, Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho, Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kai Havertz.
CHELSEA (4-3-3): Edouard Mendy; Reece James, Kurt Zouma, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell; Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount; Hakim Ziyech, Tammy Abraham, Timo Werner.
Tottenham have been equally impressive of late, winning their last five matches on the bounce. They enhanced their claims for the Premier League crown with a fine performance in a 2-0 win over Manchester City last week. Mourinho and his team now have to perform on the road against another challenger. They saw off Ludogorets with ease in the Europa League last time out and will require a clinical edge in both boxes tonight.
Chelsea will be eyeing up the chance to move top of the Premier League table this evening and to send out a message to Spurs over their title chances. The Blues begin the day in third, three points behind Liverpool and two behind Tottenham in second. The Blues have won their last six matches in all competitions, including their victory over Rennes in the Champions League during the week courtesy of Olivier Giroud's late header. It will take another strong outing to overcome Jose Mourinho's men.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.
