Commentary

That's all from us in this game, we'll catch you for the next one. Thank you, and goodbye.
Norwich will spend another matchday rooted in the bottom three as Chelsea go marching on at the top of the table. Unless Daniel Farke can find a way to get his Canaries side winning, he, and the club, could see themselves out of the top flight in very little time. For Chelsea though, if they carry on performing like that, even without Romelu Lukaku, it's going to be difficult for any other club to wrestle them away from the top spot, and Thomas Tuchel could become a Premier League winner in just his first full season managing the Blues.
Although Mason Mount will be taking home the match ball, the contribution of Antonio Rudiger in this match, particularly in an attacking sense, cannot be understated. He maintained a game-high 96.7 per cent passing accuracy for Chelsea, and 93.8 per cent in Norwich's half alone. What a performance from the Germany defender, who is quickly becoming undroppable in this side.
Well if you're a Norwich fan, you're glad that's over. Seven goals for Chelsea, and none in reply, sees Chelsea bridge a four-point gap between themselves and Liverpool with a near-perfect performance that saw man-of-the-match Mason Mount pick up a hat-trick, as well as three other Chelsea scorers and an own goal from Max Aarons. It was a complete annihilation of Norwich who don't look anywhere near good enough to secure their status in the Premier League.
FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 7-0 NORWICH CITY.
90' + 3' Ziyech still wants a goal for himself, and fires over as the referee brings proceedings to an end.
90' + 2' We're two minutes into three of stoppage time, and Norwich want this game to be over as soon as possible.
R. Loftus-Cheek
Assist
90' + 1' That assist from Loftus-Cheek showed some real character, feeding Mount for his third, and Chelsea's strength-in-depth has really come to the fore in this second half, with the subsitutes all providing impetus and attacking chances for their side.
M. Mount
Goal
90' + 1' GOOOALLLL!!!! Mount has a hat-trick!!!! Loftus-Cheek breaks forward in acres of space and surges into the box. He could shoot, but cuts the ball back to Mount who sidefoots it home into an empty net!!! Three for Mount, seven for Chelsea, and three points in the bag at Stamford Bridge.
90' Ziyech looks to cut inside and shoot once again, but he's pulled back for being offside earlier in the attacking move.
89' Rashica, arguably the most impressive Norwich player since his introduction, is fouled by Chilwell for a free-kick.
87' That penalty, Mount's second goal of the afternoon, means that he now leads the way in terms of shots (4), tied with Rudiger, who has had one hell of a match in his own right.
M. Mount
Penalty Goal
85' GOOOALLLL!!! There's number six!!! Mount makes no mistake this time and fires the ball past Krul, who went the right way again, to make it 6-0 to the home side!! What a performance from Chelsea, and what a dismal match for the Norwich fans inside Stamford Bridge.
84' WHAT'S THIS???? The referee orders the penalty to be re-taken as Krul was off his line before Mount took the kick!!! Rules are rules, and we're following them as Mount will get a chance to make up for that earlier effort.
Penalty Save
83' SAVEDDDD!!! Krul gets down to save Mount's penalty, and eventually holds it!!! It won't matter for much, but that was a good save from what wasn't the best of penalties!
M. Normann
Yellow Card
83' PENALTY!!! VAR judges that Normann did indeed handle that ball and it's a penalty for Chelsea! Normann is booked as Mount will step up...
81' PENALTY!!! OR IS IT??? Rudiger is forward for a corner and strikes the ball goalward. It's blocked by Normann but as handball protests cry around the stadium, it's time for VAR to decide if we have a penalty to be given!!
80' SAVED, AGAIN!!!!! Ziyech fancies another chance at goal and smashes the ball from the edge of the box. It's looping and dipping but Krul tips it onto the crossbar and Norwich survive once more!!!
80' WHAT A STOP!!! Barkley is through on goal and looks certain to score, before Krul stretches out his left arm and saves the goalbound shot!!! Chelsea are back into their attacking groove now alright!!!
79' SAVED!!! Loftus-Cheek has a chance to shoot and does so, but its saved by Krul and cleared!!! Chelsea's forwards can't get to the rebound though and Norwich clear!
78' CLOSE!!!!! It's very nearly a sixth for Chelsea as Ziyech cuts inside. He has far too much time to set himself and pick his spot, and his curling effort sails just wide of the right-hand post!!! It's settled down for Chelsea in the last ten minutes, but they're just as dangerous whenever they're near the Norwich box.
76' Rudiger is getting higher up the pitch by the minute, but is forced to retreat after he brings down Aarons and concedes a free-kick.
74' It's been near-impossible for Norwich to maintain any spell of possession in this match, as they've been completely outclassed in midfield by Chelsea. Normann alone has lost the ball 16 times already, and he's been one of the away side's better performers.
72' Chelsea have complete control of the Norwich defence at the moment and have all the time in the world on the edge of the box. The ball comes out to Chilwell, who is urged to shoot and strikes it hard, but the shot flies just over the crossbar and into the home crowd.
71' Loftus-Cheek wins the ball for Chelsea and it comes out to Barkley, who strikes towards goal. It just drags wide of Krul's left-hand post and Norwich don't concede another - yet.
R. Barkley
K. Havertz
70' Ross Barkley will also come on, for Chelsea's number nine today, Kai Havertz.
H. Ziyech
C. Hudson-Odoi
70' Hudson-Odoi, who has really impressed for Chelsea, is replaced by Hakim Ziyech.
A. Omobamidele
J. Sargent
69' Andrew Omobamidele will come on for Norwich, replacing USA striker Sargent.
67' Loftus-Cheek, just introduced, decides to have a pop at goal, but his attempt is easily saved by Krul.
65' RED CARD!!! Things go from bad to worse for Norwich as Gibson, who was only booked ten minutes ago, cuts down James late, and is given his second yellow card!!!! This defeat is getting uglier by the minute for Norwich.
R. Loftus-Cheek
Jorginho
64' Jorginho, who has completely ran the show for Chelsea in this match, is replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
M. Aarons
Own Goal
62' GOOOOALLLLL!!!! Chelsea have five!!!! It's an absolute nightmare for Krul as a Hudson-Odoi cross deflects off Aarons on its way to goal. The Norwich keeper can't react quick enough and the ball squirms under him to make it 5-0 to Chelsea! A stroke of luck in this goal perhaps, but it's undeniable that Chelsea have deserved everything they've got in this match.
61' Williams, who has been good since his introduction ,sets up Normann on the edge of the box. He looks to shoot, but it's immediately blocked by Rudiger, and there looks to be simply no way through for Norwich in this game.
59' That goal was Chilwell's fourth in his last four Premier League appearances for Chelsea, and in the absence of Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Tuchel's side appear to have found a new, even more prolific, goalscorer!
M. Kovačić
Assist
57' The speed at which Chelsea moved the ball, this time from right to left, has once again been the architect of that goal. Another great goal, this time from their left-back, and it's getting ugly here at Stamford Bridge.
B. Chilwell
Goal
57' GOOOALLLL!!! There's number four!!! It's Chilwell for Chelsea, who again move the ball horizontally across the pitch at pace. Kovacic sets the England left-back up, and he smashes the ball across goal and into the bottom right-hand corner!!! 4-0 now, and it didn't take Chelsea long to re-establish their dominance in the second half.
B. Gibson
Yellow Card
55' Gibson floors Havertz 30 yards from goal, and is given a booking by the referee.
55' Rashica forces James into a tussle on his own goal-line, but despite Norwich's protests, the referee awards the home side a goal-kick after the ball is deflected behind.
53' A loose ball from Chilwell gives Rashica the chance to dirve towards goal. He rounds Mendy and shoots, but the Chelsea goalkeeper gets back to save the shot and fumes at his defenders.
52' Jorginho slides a ball forward for Havertz. He's forced wide by Hanley but still tries a shot, and it's blocked behind by the Norwich captain for another Chelsea corner.
50' Norwich create their best attacking move of the match as Williams and Pukki link up down the left, however Pukki's byline cross towards Sargent sees the ball go behind Rudiger and out for a goal-kick.
49' Kovacic brings down Normann as he looks to advance with the ball, resuming the intense midfield battle being fought in this game.
47' An early chance for Chelsea as a Chilwell cross looks to find Havertz, but Krul catches to avert the danger for Norwich.
46' And we're back underway! Norwich kick off for the second half and they need to start brightly if they're to get anything out of this game!
M. Rashica
P. Lees Melou
46' The booked Lees-Melou is also withdrawn, replaced by Milot Rashica.
B. Williams
D. Giannoulis
46' Norwich make their first of two half-time changes, as Giannoulis is brought off for Manchester United loanee Brandon Williams.
The teams are back out at Stamford Bridge, and it's almost time for the second half!
Mount was absolutely top-drawer in that first half for Chelsea. A goal and an assist, on top of two key passes and shots on target, have shown just why his stock rises from game to game, and judging by the way Norwich have played, he's not finished in this game either.
An obsolute onslaught of a first half comes to an end with Chelsea well on top at Stamford Bridge. Mendy has had nothing to do whatsoever as Norwich have been penned into their own half for the vast majority of that half, and their fex excursions forward have all come to nothing. For Chelsea though, it's been a performance worthy of their place at the top of the table, and they'll extend their lead to four points barring a comeback for the ages from the away side.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 3-0 NORWICH CITY.
45' + 1' We're into an additional minute of stoppage time at the end of this first half.
P. Lees Melou
Yellow Card
45' Lees-Melou clips Chilwell as he runs onto a Jorginho pass, and is given the first yellow card of the match.
44' CHANCE!!! Nearly a fourth for Chelsea as James sets up Mount. He fires a shot towards goal that is just too high and Norwich breathe a sigh of relief!
M. Mount
Assist
42' The speed at which Chelsea moved that ball from left to right, gives an inclination as to how, despite Norwich having a packed midfield and five-man defence, they're cutting the away side open with such ease.
R. James
Goal
42' GOOOALLLL!!!! It's three for Chelsea! They move the ball from left to right and Mount places a delightful throughball forward for James to run on to. The England wing-back gets there first and dinks the ball over the oncoming Krul to make it 3-0!!! Game, set, and match in all likelihood, and it's not even half-time yet.
41' Kovacic looks to create an attacking move for Chelsea and, instead of choosing to shoot, finds Havertz. His link-up is just behind Hudson-Odoi, who can't win it back as Kabak comes away with the ball for Norwich.
39' Pukki beats a few Chelsea players as he flies forward, but he doesn't get past Rudiger who outmuscles the Norwich striker and wins the ball back for the home team.
37' Kabak wins the ball from Hudson-Odoi and surges to the edge of the Chelsea box. With no other options, he's urged to shoot and does so, however he probably shouldn't have, as the ball flies high and wide of Mendy's goal and a rare Norwich attack comes to nothing.
35' Silva looks to be under pressure from Sargent, but the veteran Brazilian defender strolls up the field as if the Norwich striker isn't even there.
33' Rudiger shoots from the edge of the box, again, but his left-footed shot deflectes high and into Krul's arms, despite Rudiger's best efforts to put the Norwich keeper off.
31' Hudson-Odoi skillfully gets rid of Kabak and cuts inside to pass across goal to Mount. The England midfielder hits it first time, but the shot is straight into the waiting arms of Krul.
30' Gibson clatters through Mount to win the ball, however he connects with the ball first and Normann is clipped upon receiving it, gaining Norwich a kree-kick.
28' A great cross-field ball from Normann finds Giannoulis on the run. His cross into the box is well-weighted, but is headed away by Chalobah before Pukki can rise to head the ball.
26' Norwich are still to get a foothold in this match, particularly on the attacking front. Their most promising opportunity, a throughball from Pukki to Sargent, was easily dealt with by Thiago Silva, an interception that started the passing move for Chelsea's second goal.
24' Rudiger of all people is once again very far forward, and tries a shot from a tight angle that is blocked and cleared away by the Canaries' defence.
22' Hanley brings down Havertz, as the Chelsea man did to him earlier, giving the home side a free-kick in a potentially dangerous area.
20' That assist was Kovacic's second key pass inside just 20 minutes. It's a clear example of Chelsea's dominance, as Norwich are yet to complete one dangerous pass in Chelsea's half.
M. Kovačić
Assist
18' That ball from Kovacic was simply world class, and when they watch a post-match replay, the Norwich players can't complain too much that they were completely carved open by a ball of that quality.
C. Hudson-Odoi
Goal
18' GOOOALLLLL!!!! Chelsea double their lead!!! Kovacic splits the away defence in two with a beautiful pass from halfway, and Hudson-Odoi races onto the ball and sidefoots it past Krul to make it 2-0 to Chelsea! The blues are in total control here, and it looks like there's no way back for Norwich.
16' Sargent looks to capitalise on a deflected pass from Lees-Melou, but play is brought back as the Nrowich midfielder is judged to have fouled Chilwell.
15' Jorginho looks to send Havertz away on a run, but the forward collides with Hanley and the move comes to nothing.
13' Chilwell makes a late surge into the box to meet Mount's low corner, but the move doesn't come off as it's cleared by the Norwich defenders.
12' Hudson-Odoi and Havertz link up down the left, and the latter's cross is deflected behind by Kabak, for the game's maiden corner.
10' For a side with the worst attack in the league, it’s almost ironic that Norwich today come up against a Chelsea side with the best defence, having only conceded three goals so far this season. Given that they're 1-0 down already, the task of breaching this blue wall just got much, much harder for the Canaries.
Jorginho
Assist
8' Jorginho did so, so well under pressure to win that ball back, and his lay-off for Mount was just superb! It's Mount's first goal of the season, and Chelsea are off and running here!
M. Mount
Goal
8' GOOOALLLL!!!!! Chelsea lead already!!! The Hanley clearance isn't anywhere near far away enough and Jorginho wins the ball back for Chelsea. He tees up Mount who smashes the ball past Krul and into the bottom corner!!! 1-0 to Chelsea straight away, and Norwich's chances of a first win grow even smaller!
7' Hudson-Odoi gets around Aarons and Kabak with searing pace, but his ball into the box is headed away by Hanley.
5' Rudiger is very far forward and hits a specualtive shot towards goal. It bounces just in front of Krul, who spills the easy-looking save, but re-gathers before any Chelsea players can nip in to hit the rebound.
4' Jorginho has time to cross from 30 yards out, and his ball towards Hudson-Odoi is just ahead of the Chelsea winger and the ball flies out for a goal-kick.
3' Norwich break forward and Aaron's squeezes a great ball through to the edge of the box. Unfortunately though, it's just behind Sargent who has to chase after the ball, and his ensuing pass back inside is intercepted by Chelsea.
2' This match is Norwich’s 38th successive game inside the Premier League’s bottom three. It’s a record second only to Swindon’s 40 in 1993-94, and a win won’t even see them climb higher than 18th, regardless of other results.
1' We're underway in West London, as Havertz gets us underway for Chelsea!
The teams are on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, and kick-off isn’t far away now!
Billy Gilmour is ineligible to play against parent club Chelsea, and Norwich line up with a five-man midfield in this match. They’ll be hoping to win the ball and move it forwards, particularly given that the Canaries have only scored two goals so far this season.
Missing their two injured strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner through injury, Chelsea will start with Kai Havertz leading the line. The Germany forward scored his second goal of the season in midweek, against Malmo in the Champions League.
NORWICH CITY SUBS: Angus Gunn, Lukas Rupp, Kieran Dowell, Milot Rashica, Christos Tzolis, Jacob Lungi Sorensen, Brandon Williams, Adam Idah, Andrew Omobamidele.
NORWICH CITY (3-5-2): Tim Krul; Ozan Kabak, Ben Gibson, Grant Hanley; Max Aarons, Pierre Lees-Melou, Mathias Normann, Kenny McLean, Dimitrios Giannoulis; Josh Sargent, Teemu Pukki.
CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Saul Niguez, Ross Barkley, Hakim Ziyech, Cesar Azpilicueta, Malang Sarr.
CHELSEA (3-4-2-1): Edouard Mendy; Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Antonio Rudiger; Reece James, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Ben Chilwell; Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount; Kai Havertz.
Still searching for their first win of the season, Norwich will know that they’ve been written off by most ahead of this match, but coach Daniel Farke will hope that two draws in their last two games will stand the Canaries in good stead, as they prepare to face a Chelsea side yet to drop a point this October.
It’s a clash between the league’s top and bottom teams, as home side Chelsea, who lead Liverpool by a point heading into this game, face Norwich, who remain planted to the foot of the table.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this Premier League fixture between Chelsea and Norwich City.
